Global AI Summit 2024 Wraps Up with Key Insights and Strategic Collaborations

Bennett University hosted the highly anticipated Global AI Summit 2024 from September 4 to 6, an IEEE-sponsored International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies. The summit attracted a remarkable number of submissions, with 1,275 papers received globally. After a rigorous review process, 236 papers were selected for inclusion in the event’s final proceedings, highlighting the depth and breadth of research presented.

Day 1 Highlights:

The summit kicked off with an inspiring keynote address by Prof. (Dr.) Soumitra Dutta, Peter Moores Dean at Said Business School, University of Oxford. Prof. Dutta’s presentation explored the transformative effects of artificial intelligence on global business landscapes, addressing both the potential for innovation and the associated ethical challenges. The first day also featured notable speakers from various sectors who discussed AI’s expanding role across industries, setting a collaborative tone for the summit. The event brought together over 50 keynote speakers and session chairs, as well as more than 45 academic co-session chairs, representing a diverse cross-section of the AI community from over 25 countries.

Day 2 Highlights:

On the second day, the focus shifted to showcasing cutting-edge research through presentations across 14 specialized tracks. These tracks included Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science & Big Data, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Human-Computer Interaction, and several other critical areas. The day also featured the “Industry Connect” segment, which emphasized the integration of academic research with industry practices. Corporate leaders and experts shared their perspectives and innovations, bridging the gap between academic research and real-world applications.

Valedictory Ceremony:

The summit concluded on September 6 with a Valedictory Ceremony that celebrated the collaborative achievements of the event. The ceremony featured keynote addresses by Prof. (Dr.) S.N. Singh, Director of Atal Bihari Vajpayee – Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior, and Dr. Abhay Sinha, Director General of the Services Export Promotion Council under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. Their speeches highlighted the crucial intersection of technology, policy, and services, underscoring the need for strategic partnerships among academia, industry, and government to enhance India’s global standing in the AI sector. Prof. Mohammed Rihan, Director General of the National Institute of Solar Energy, also delivered a thought-provoking address as the guest of honor.

Strategic Collaborations and Educational Opportunities:

The summit also saw the signing of significant MOUs between Sardar Patel University, Mandi, India, and Eastern International University, Vietnam. These agreements aim to strengthen international academic ties through joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programs, and collaborative knowledge sharing.

Additionally, an International Education Fair was held as part of the closing ceremony, featuring participation from over 45 universities worldwide. This fair provided a platform for exploring academic opportunities, global collaborations, and innovative research in AI. The diverse

representation from leading institutions underscored the event’s international appeal and its role in advancing AI education and research.
