Workshop on School-to-Work Transitions Conducted at Bhopal

The Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education recently convened a two-day workshop in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on September 30 and October 1. The preparatory meeting for knowledge-sharing of the STARS project which focuses on school-to-work transitions and assessment systems was launched by the state minister for transport and school education, Uday Pratap Singh.

To begin with, Singh underlined the importance of the NEP 2020 which focuses on the all-round development of children, and stressed of STARS project in changing the system in the country. The Director of DoSE&L, Sanjay Kumar, argued about the upgrade of the match between education and employment, while Vipin Kumar, the Additional Secretary, greeted attendees and introduced a number of opportunities to learn more about a Profession.

The workshop included presentations of research on which policy measures – for example, the implementation of NEP 2020 or the National Curriculum Framework – promote skill-oriented education, internships, and curriculum updates. Lecturers and employers underlined the problem of integration with industries to consolidate the match between knowledge and requirements of working practices.

Speaking of the unique approaches, educational assessment, psychometric analysis, and the career counseling reflection were also discussed by the speakers. The workshop ended with the reflection made by Vipin Kumar on the ways improvement of the assessment systems and enhancement of transition from school to work for students could be made.
