From the academic year starting in 2025-26, CISCE has proposed unprecedented changes in the academic rules and regulations that will impact more than three million children studying in CISCE-affiliated institutions all over India. These modifications are in accordance with NUDEP 2020 and will work for the modernisation of education system as per The Times of India.

Major improvements will be setting up of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (subjects) for Classes XI and XII. Younger learners will also learn the basics of AI and coding within their computationally-themed content areas that are discussed below in an age-appropriate manner.

Apart from new subjects CISCE will introduce a ‘holistic progress card’ that measures a student on academic as well as co-curricular activities. This process of structuring learning outcomes will be through the use of a 360-degree assessment which seeks to capture all round performance of the students.

From 2025 session, CISCE will also transform board examination as 25 percent questions would be competency based one. This percentage will grow up to 40 percent in 2026, and 50 percent in 2027, with emphasis on evaluating fundamental competencies and problem solving instead of memorization.

Thus, to improve quality in education number of digital tests for the class III, V and VIII will be conducted so as to identify the poor performing students and also the meritorious students. Also, a school improvement initiative will foster a partnership between high achievers and state governments to enhance the learning standards in government schools.

These reforms signify a change of a new generation education that the country needs to produce in order to meet future job market demands.
