ee 3

The announcement was made following the launch of an initiative to provide fifty Quad scholarships to students from the region for $500,000. This chance will enable the beneficiaries to attend a four- year undergraduate engineering course at a technical institution sponsored by the Government of India.

Quad partners voiced their support for the initiative in a recent statement; the Quad Infrastructure Fellowships have grown to include over 2,200 professionals. Since the start of the program at the Summit last year, over 1,300 fellowships have been granted. The declaration also focused on the work of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure in India which applied to improve the power sector in Indo-Pacific region.

The Quad seeks to enhance cooperation between the member countries and their respective societies. The Quad Fellowship is an essential component of this mission, with the primary aim of building a pipeline of emerging leaders in science, technology, and policy. This means that for the first time, students from ASEAN countries are covered within this expanding program, which is set within the framework of cooperation with the Institute of International Education.

Furthermore, the funding for the initiative comes from the Government of Japan where Quad Fellows can study in the country. The declaration thanked the companies that supported the programme and the following year’s cohort of fellows, Google, Pratt Foundation, and Western Digital. It is so crucial and timely in the progression of education and higher learning profession in the region.
